Hungarian Customs & Trade Compliance Manager [ZFDEB - TC14]
Our client
Our client is a world leader electronic device manufacturer. Currently we are recruiting an experienced Trade Compliance Manager for their Debrecen office.
Tasks
* Manage the Hungarian Customs and Trade Compliance Department at operational, tactical, and strategic levels.
* Serve as an Export Compliance Officer for the Hungarian operations and ensure compliance with United States, European Union, and Hungarian export regulations.
* Manage, administer, and ensure compliance of 17 different customs licenses (including Inward Processing Relief (IPR) and Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) licenses)
* Meet administration requirements around Hungarian Environmental Protection Fees.
* Provide support to the European Sales Branches with regards to trade compliance regulations, valuations, TARIC classifications, country of origin, VAT issues.
* Serve as primary contact for Hungarian Customs and Trade Compliance Authorities (including all level of Customs Authorities, Hungarian Trade Licensing Office (HTLO), and others) in accordance with formal procedures adopted by Global Trade Compliance.
* Work closely with Global Trade Compliance Manager regarding Hungarian and European customs and trade compliance operations. Continuously look for optimizing and improving both internal and external customs and trade compliance processes.
Requirements
* Strong understanding of Hungarian customs regulations is a must. Understanding EU and US export regulations is a definite advantage.* Minimum bachelor’s degree in business or other related area.
* Good written and verbal communication skills both in English, both in Hungarian are necessary.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Has the initiative to undertake multiple responsibilities and has a potential to grow into the European Customs & Trade Compliance Manager position.
* Minimum of 5 years experience in customs and trade compliance in the high-tech or electronic industry in an international environment is a preference.
* Management experience is preferred.
* Established, good working relationships with the Hungarian Customs Authorities are beneficial.
