Software Engineer - Java [ZFW01Java]
Our client
Our client designs, develops, operates and supports digital platform contents and services such as Massively Multiplayer/Role Playing Games, community portals and other Internet, mobile, interactive TV contents for distribution to external customers as well as to other own business units.
Tasks
As a member of the software engineering team, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementation of 3 tier Java technology solutions which support worldwide web based products and services.
Job Responsibilities
•Be able to work alone.
•If needed be part of a medium sized team of developers.
•Turn functional requirements to code.
•Became responsible for a product, including development, lifecycle management (Documenting, bug fixing, releasing)
•Liaise with technical and non technical customers to produce and deliver business and technical requirements/functional specifications.
•Be involved with testing solution through the use of software automation (Junit) or manual testing strategies in conjunction with the QA team.
•Produce and maintain design (e.g. Object and Database diagrams), maintenance (e.g. release notes) and operational documentation (deployment instructions)
•Support remote development teams and external clients in the use of the standard technology platform.
•Research and recommend new technologies and best practices.
•Work across boundaries with technical and non technical people in a variety of global locations (North America, Asia, Europe)
Requirements
•BSc / MSc in Computer Science with equivalent to Upper Second Class grade•Good level of Java/J2EE technologies
•Good communication and interpersonal skills.
•Good written and spoken English
•At least 2 years experience of coding high availability web based software systems (e.g. registration and authentication systems, personalization systems, e-commerce and shopping basket technology, email delivery or messaging)
•At least 2 years working in a professional software / internet development company.
•At least 2 years development and delivery of online products or services that are customer facing.
•At least 2 years experience with Java Technologies such as JSP, Servlets, JDBC, JMS.
•At least 2 years experience of using Relational Database Technology.
•2 years exposure and practice in all areas of the software development life cycle. (Requirements, Design, Implementation, Testing, Maintenance).
•Experience working in an environment where the candidate is required to perform outside of the role of a programmer (e.g. meeting customers, gathering requirements) is a distinct advantage.
